Euro interest rate left unchanged at 1%

The European Central Bank (ECB) has left its key interest rate unchanged at 1%.

Mario Draghi, president of the ECB, will hold a news conference later to explain the decision.

The focus will be on whether Mr Draghi makes any hints about future rate cuts to stimulate the eurozone economy.

Earlier, official figures from Eurostat confirmed that the eurozone economy recorded zero growth in the first three months of the year.
